Navajo Cross-Cultural Tour

The tour's goal is to provide an introduction to Native American life ways and customs through a Dineh (Navajo) guide, and to encourage cultural exploration in a responsible manner. Activities involve responsible visitation to sacred sites and other out-of-doors activities; hiking, horse riding, lectures, discussions, and story-telling. Escape the confinements of convenience and enter the realm of everyday living out in nature. We will be in sync with natural time, weather, and places in accordance to Native American philosophy of living. Commit to 11 days of personal journey that will help to re-examine one's life and gain insight into the distinctive worldview and wisdom of an Indigenous culture. Not only will participants delve into the beauty of the culture and vast landscape of the American southwest, you will gain an up-close and personal education on some of the challenges that Native Americans face today and the importance of cross-cultural sharing for improving the quality of life for the people of all walks of life as well as for the natural environment. If so inclined, there will be opportunities to contribute to socio-economic depressed Native communities with a volunteer agenda. All is not well in the present state of affairs with "America's" original inhabitants.
Sacred Mountains Tour

Take a journey to the Dineh (Navajo) Sacred Mountains that will circumnavigate the Dineh ancestral land encompassing New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado within the four corners area. Participants will be taken on a passage of the body, mind, and spirit with opportunities to initiate connection to sacred land sites through the guidance of Navajo tour guide and elder, Paul Tohlakai. This unique experience will allow participants to gain a glimpse into aspects of the Dine' cosmology, and insight into the teachings of the "Beauty Way. The group will commence the journey from Albuquerque, New Mexico in a traditional clockwise fashion visiting the four cardinal directional mountains en-route back to Albuquerque. Activities involve responsible visitation to sacred sites and other out-of-doors activities; hiking, lectures, discussions, and story-telling. Southwest Indigenous Art Journeys
with Italian Translator

"Exploring the continuity, legacy and innovation of Native American Arts & Crafts"
You are invited to participate in a unique 13 day cross-cultural adventure to learn on-site about the rich cultural
legacy of the Navajo, Acoma, Apache, Zuni, Isleta, and Taos peoples of the American Southwest. Journeying through
the timeless landscape of New Mexico and southern Colorado, you will glimpse into the distinct worldviews and
cosmology of the original peoples. Discover the natural monuments and places of pilgrimage, such as the world
famous Mesa Verde National Park and Chaco Canyon site that protect the many ancestral sites that are still revered
by contemporary Native Peoples. Participants will learn of the various arts and crafts both their ancient and
contemporary expressions that reveal the Native Peoples' strong sense of place, history and pride. You will learn
of the techniques, materials and cultural context of the ceramics, jewelry, textiles, architecture and visual
arts created by members of these various communities. Visits will be made to prominent Native American art museums,
and you will have the opportunity to meet with acclaimed regional artists. Most importantly you will experience
first hand the natural beauty of the southwestern landscape that has been the inspiration and sacred homeland to
these tribal people. Your main Native guide/cultural interpreter will be Mr. John Anthony Reyna, an educator from
the Pueblo communities of Taos and Ohkay Owingeh in Northern New Mexico. He has an undergraduate degree in history,
art and anthropology and has traveled extensively in the southwest and knows first hand many of the places and
peoples of the communities we will visit.

You are invited to participate in a unique cross-cultural adventure to learn on-site about the rich cultural legacy of the Navajo, Acoma, Zuni, Hopi and Taos peoples of the American Southwest. Journeying through the timeless landscape of New Mexico, Northern Arizona, and southern Colorado, you will glimpse into the distinct worldviews and cosmology of the original peoples. This tour is customized to the needs and desires of groups, organizations, individuals, families and special clientele (disabled or special needs). Duration will be days of leisure in the out of doors and comfortable accommodations in motels in places such as Window Rock, Page, Chinle, Kayenta. The itinerary will be pre-planned for the group’s preference.
